Virtual neuropsychological assessment is most often used in psychiatric, medical, legal, or psychological clinic settings. The types of assessments and their purposes differ among these settings. Within clinical psychology, the clinical method is an approach to understanding, diagnosing, and treating mental health disorders. The process begins with a lengthy (1.5–2 hour) intake call with a doctoral-level neuropsychologist. The intake evaluation gathers an individual's personal history and is designed around that individual's psychological needs.
